Looking for an excuse to pop up to Orcas Island this summer? My good friend Christina Orchid has a series of cooking classes on tap, held in her historic Red Rabbit Farm, which just might be the incentive you're looking for. I'll be kicking off the June series of weekly classes, teaching on June 2. Recipes will draw from my Northwest Homegrown Cookbook Series and feature the best of the island's seasonal products. And proceeds from the class go to support Children's House, an early learning childhood center serving families on Orcas Island.
